“When I die, I want to leave a legacy of a plant-based doctor who cared about the health of her patients, and treated underlying disease with nutrition rather than pharmaceuticals.” Angie Sadeghi, MD
Dr. Angie Sadeghi is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, and an expert in weight loss. She is part of a new movement called “The Plantrician Project,” and empowered with the knowledge of the benefits of a whole food plant-based nutrition.
Dr. Angie offers a complete range of services including treatments for digestive, stomach, esophagus, liver, and colon-related illnesses. She has extensive training from the prestigious University of Southern California (USC), and demonstrates exceptional commitment to excellence in treating diseases of digestive tract.
Dr. Angie switched to a vegetarian diet 12 years ago, and later decided to eliminate dairy and all other animal products out of her diet 3 years ago. The decision to go vegetarian 12 years ago was because she suddenly made the connection that as an animal lover, who had a pet dog, she was being a hypocrite eating meat. “There is no difference between eating a cow, sheep, cat, or a dog. “All animals are beautiful gifts to our planet earth and should have equal rights. The farming practice is cruel and unusual punishment, inhumane, and should be outlawed. Whether you kill an animal with your own bare hands, or pay someone else to kill the animal, you are contributing to an inhumane practice.” She attended a seminar May 2014, where the speaker spoke about the harmful effects of dairy. At the time, she was suffering from health problems such as severe eczema, elevated cholesterol, fatigue, and overweight. At the seminar, she happened to speak to her cousin who is an avid vegan, who pointed out the inhumane practices of the dairy industry. Since that day, she eliminated all dairy out of her diet, and started eating a whole food plant-based diet, and literally overnight she transformed her health and body to an unimaginable level, which allowed her to compete in a fitness competition 8 months later. “It was crazy to look at myself in the mirror and look like a fitness model, rather than a typical overweight physician. I had decided to transform my body and health, but the results were out of this world incredible, so I decided to share my method of success with my patients.”
Doctor Angie was a finalist for PETA’s “Sexiest Vegan Next Door 2017.” She has influenced hundreds of friends and patients to switch to a vegan diet, and she continues to work hard to spread the vegan message. She was recently on a major Iranian television network and spoke about the health benefits of a whole food plant-based diet. She hopes to inform and educate the Iranian people and help the Iranian people adopt a healthier and more humane life-style.
Combining evidence based medicine, her expertise in the digestive system and her passion for physical fitness and plant-based nutrition, Dr. Angie has developed a comprehensive approach to helping patients live a healthy life. Dr. Angie is passionate about disease prevention.
